Colorado natives – when you’re looking for the best mountain bike parks, you’re in luck. We have some of the best mountain bike parks right in our backyard. Each park offers different features and tailors their park to different skill levels but most importantly, every park places a huge emphasis on safety for their riders.
Barnum Mountain Bike Park
Just outside of the heart of Denver lies an amazing park designed by an award-winning Canadian company and the renown John Cowan. Without even leaving the city limits, you’ll have access to jumps and tracks to show off on and test your skills. Riders rave about the perfectly constructed jumps and the extremely well-maintained paths. They have wonderful volunteers who keep the park tidy and dialed.
Keystone Bike Park
With 34 connecting trails, Keystone Resort’s bike park is one of the largest parks in the United States. They’ve constructed drops, berms, descents, and downhill tracks that are enjoyable for all types and skill levels of riders. The 100 miles of lift-serviced singletrack is a huge draw for many bikers, and the expert-only terrain park offers creative free falls to challenge even the best of them. Keystone offers events for all kinds of riders, with activities such as the late-night family rides, female-led coaching, and fun for the kids too.
Golden Bike Park
West of Denver is home to Golden Bike Park, an inclusive park for riders of all skill levels. The main flow trail starts at the top and increases in features and difficulty as you continue downhill. However, each feature offers a “rollable option” for those who’d like to bail out before it becomes too aggressive for their particular skill level. In the middle of the trail, it splits into other trails that are better suited for beginners, intermediate, and advanced riders and meets up at the climbing trail to start all over.
Valmont Bike Park
Outside of Boulder city limits is Valmont City Park which offers tons of activities for all ages. They have a disc golf course, birding, running trails, picnic areas, and 42-acre terrain park. The bike park features pump tracks, jumps, single-track-cross-country trials, and slopestyle courses. The difficulty level increases as you progress through the park so you can stay within your ability and ride within your comfort zone. Best of all? It’s family-friendly and free.
